Is this event just for grandparents and their grandkids?
Actually, the event is open to everyone, regardless if one is bringing a grandparent or not. We are encouraging participants to register in honour or in memory of a grandparent or honour someone who is a grandparent.
Is this event open only for people affiliated with Providence Healthcare (staff, patients, residents)?
This event is open to the entire community, regardless of your affiliation with Providence Healthcare. It's an event that is open to everyone and we're encouraging participants to bring out the whole family!
What does registration include?
Your registration fee will allow you access to a shuttle service between Taylor Creek park and Providence Healthcare, a shirt, souvenir runner bib and access to our Grandparents' Day celebration.
What time do I need to be at the location?
If you are registered for the 5K or 10K, please show-up to Providence Healthcare by 8:00 a.m. A shuttle bus will be provided to take you to Taylor Creek Park.
If you are registered for the 1K, please show-up to Providence Healthcare by 10:00 a.m.
Can my children participate and is registration required for them?
Yes they can participate. Registration will be required if you would like them to receive their own shirt and runner bib.
Are the courses difficult for kids?
The 5K and 10K courses at Taylor Creek Park are on a paved road. There are some areas that are elevated to consider.
If you wish, your kids can still participate in the 1K that will take place at Providence Healthcare. If 1K is 'too easy' they can always do extra laps.
Due to the amount of runners at Taylor Creek Park, it is recommended for anyone with a stroller to participate in the 1K instead.
Can I bring my dog?
We ask participants to keep pets at home for this event to ensure safety (for both the runners as well as our pets).
